The starting and stopping can happen multiple times a minute on a hot day so make sure you install the EVGA Precision X1 software and turn on "Fan Curve control", with the minimum fan speed set above 20-25% so the fans always stay But with this card the fans make a weird grinding noise on startup. Had a issue and solved it.The card saves power by default by turning off the fans when the temperature is below a certain threshold, then will start up again.
